It exceeded the original goal of the government, its initiative “permanent price reduction” which were the 500 products, as until yesterday 650 products from 53 companies had joined the program.

The next goal is 1,000 products that cover a household’s basic needs.

This he noted the Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekasduring today’s visit to a supermarket store in Galatsi.

The minister underlined that the permanent price reduction tags have been placed. They are those that indicate that the respective product belongs to the program and has reduced its price by at least 5% for at least 6 months.

At the same time, Mr. Skrekas added that “the battle to reduce prices continues on three axes:

* Continuous and intensive checks on the market, at all stages of the supply chain to prevent the phenomenon of profiteering

* “Permanent Price Reduction” initiative, where we ask suppliers to steadily and permanently reduce the price of their products

* and the “household basket” that continues and the consumer can find products with the lowest prices to meet daily needs.
