His meeting lasted forty minutes President of PASOK-Movement of Change, Nikos Androulakis with the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Soltz, on the sidelines of the conference of the European Socialist Party, which is being held in Malaga.

The two men exchanged views on the economy, refugees, the Western Balkans and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The German Chancellor underlined that he is monitoring the dynamic presence of PASOK-Movement for Change in the last election contests.

After the end of the meeting, Mr. Androulakis made the following statement:

“We had a fruitful discussion with Chancellor Olaf Solz about the Western Balkans, Turkey and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean. We agreed that in the next European elections the goal is a strong social democracy, victorious against populism, nationalism, against conservation. Because the European peoples are experiencing a new economic crisis, inequalities and few jobs. A comprehensive progressive plan with common financial tools is therefore needed to serve convergence, social justice and a welfare state for all. This is what we advocate and want to implement for the Europe of the people and not for a Europe of injustices, for a Europe of inequalities, for a Europe with low prospects and low expectations for the younger generations.”
