The proceedings of the stormy Central Committee were completed shortly before 6 pm of SYRIZA-PS which was marked by the withdrawal of “Umbrella”.
The text of the political decision was adopted almost unanimously, in which it is pointed out that:
“People who spew such insults and slanders cannot bear the status of party members and they cannot represent the party.”
“Disciplinary sanctions are imposed by the Ethics Committee” however, it is clarified in the text.
Kasselakis to Tsakalotos – Perka: “Give back your seats”
The president of SYRIZA launched a fire against the “Umbrella” in his short speech to the Central Committee Stefanos Kasselakis.
On the occasion of the resounding departure of “Umbrella”, the president of SYRIZA-PS asked the Mr. Tsakalotos and Ms. Perch to surrender their seats, reminding them of the code of conduct, and for the MEP to do the same Stelios Kouloglou.
“Those who hurl such insults and calumnies, they cannot carry the membership status of SYRIZA and they cannot represent the party” explained, among others, Stefanos Kasselakis.
“No one in here should applaud the departure of Umbrella from the Central Committee. Not because I feel bad for the 45 people who signed, but because many people who now rely on SYRIZA, also put their hopes in these people. Well, we can’t insult those who gave a cross to these people with arrogance in here,” he stressed.
As he said, “there is no longer any reason for a referendum on any issue”. as there are no more deletions.
The party statute has always been valid and will always be valid with me first of all, he clarified.
Summarizing the text from the committee’s soon-to-be-issued decision, he noted that “persons who launch such insults and slanders, cannot bear the status of a member of SYRIZA and cannot represent the party”.
“There is no close circle for me” repeated the president of SYRIZA. “I’m dusting off what’s been said in here,” he added.
“Do you want to work? Come on. Here is Rhodes, here is the leap. From today the unity of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance begins, I call on all of you to assume your responsibilities in front of the history of this party” he concluded.
“Umbrella”: Heavy fire against Kasselakis, an indirect reference to a new party
