The meeting lasted one hour and forty minutes of the President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides with the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in Rome’s government building, Palazzo Chichi.

According to information from APE-MPE, the meeting was held in a very warm atmosphere and during the discussion, special emphasis was placed on bilateral relations, the cooperation of the two countries at the European level, the efforts to deal with immigration and the need to coordinate them.

Mr. Christodoulidis presented to the Italian Prime Minister the Cypriot proposal for sea ​​humanitarian corridor from Larnaca to Gaza. Georgia Meloni showed particular interest and reportedly indicated that her country could also take part in the whole humanitarian initiative.
