Kyriakos Mitsotakis, speaking in London at an event of the Greek Diaspora Secretariat of the ND, recalled his visit last year and what he had said a few months before the national elections asking “not to interrupt the country’s path of progress so that we can implement the reform our project». The prime minister emphasized that the Greeks rewarded the government with a very large percentage.

“We did it together. This rate is a liability rate. It compels me to work even harder every day to implement the reform project. Bold bills like this to tax freelancers,” he said, emphasizing the concept of tax and social justice.

“Our aim is to continue on this ambitious and bold path of major reforms which, as I have said, take essentially eight years. And these (major reforms) are what make us different from other parties. It does not concern us what is happening in the field of the opposition. We look every day to make the lives of Greeks better, to face the imported precision, to improve the quality of health, to ensure a better education system. We will put all this into practice”, underlined Mr. Mitsotakis.

The prime minister then referred to the battle of the European elections. “We want in the European elections to be sure that we will secure a high percentage to establish this political supremacy. We will need your help,” he stressed and noted that the government changed the law and now those registered in the electoral rolls can vote without restrictions other than their permanent residence.

“Many of you left during the difficult years of the crisis and now you may be thinking of going back. Many children are returning because they are convinced that the country has entered a long-term growth trajectory. This is my greatest satisfaction and confirmation that we have left behind the years of crisis”, he underlined.

Mr. Mitsotakis also mentioned this in his speech tomorrow at the investment conference organized by the Hellenic Stock Exchange and Morgan Stanley in London. He said that he will have the opportunity to reaffirm the course of development of the Greek economy while we have recovered the investment grade. “The economy is growing at a faster rate than the European average and we have entered a virtuous circle, the impact of which we want to be channeled throughout society and for every Greek to benefit from this growth,” stressed the prime minister.
