The Minister of the Interior, Niki Kerameos, representing the Greek government, assumes the presidency of this year’s Global Strategy Group of the OECD, which will be held on December 7 and 8 in Paris.
It is one of the leading international forums for discussion and exchange of views with the participation of high-ranking executives from thirty-eight member states of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) with the aim of deepening of partnerships between them and the development of common policies to address problems of international scope.
The main theme of this year’s OECD Global Strategy Group concerns the need to redesign public policies and fiscal programs in the face of increasing new challenges.
Specifically, this year’s Global Strategy Group, which will be chaired by Ms. Kerameos, will focus on demographicthe climate crisisthe eunfolding geopolitical situation among other issues.
In this context, four basic scenarios of strategic perspective analysis will be considered. The aim is to develop a set of political options that will respond to the above scenarios. The implications of each scenario will be examined in key areas such as supply chain and trade, financing the green transition, managing demographic challenges and relations with developing and emerging economies.
At the Global Strategy Group 2023, the Minister of the Interior will be accompanied by the Greek ambassador to the OECD, Professor Giorgos Pagoulatos, who has made a decisive contribution to shaping this year’s agenda in the context of the Greek presidency.
