Rishi Sunak’s decision to cancel his meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis is emerging as a political issue in Britain, with the Labor leader harshly criticizing the British Prime Minister in the House of Commons, even stating that “the British Museum is fine – it is the prime minister who has obviously lost his marbles (his mind)”.

In particular Starmer said that the Greek Prime Minister had come to London to meet Mr Sounak, “a fellow NATO member, an economic ally. One of our most important partners in tackling illegal immigration. But instead of using this meeting to discuss these serious issues, she tried to humiliate him and canceled it at the last minute.”.

“Why so little politics?” the Labor leader then asks.

Sunak, responding, said that “of course, we are always happy to discuss important substantive issues with our allies, such as tackling illegal immigration or strengthening our security.”

“But when it was clear that the purpose of a meeting was not to discuss substantive issues for the future, but rather to analyze and rehash issues of the past, it was inappropriate.”

“Furthermore … when specific commitments and specific assurances were made on this matter in this country and then broken, it may seem foreign to him, but my view is that when people make commitments they should keep them.”

The Labor leader goes on to say the Prime Minister has “no plan” for boat crossings and immigration is at a “record high”.
