At yesterday’s meeting of the PASOK parliamentary group, the main opposition party was decided to vote in favor of the proposal of the President of the Parliament for the amendment of provisions of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, in the so-called “cutter” that is. Sure, the rapporteur of PASOK Panagiotis Doudonis and the parliamentarians of the movement who will take the floor are expected to raise a number of issues for wider changes and implementation of the constitutional provisions.
The nightly amendments and the decisions that the parliamentarians are asked to take without prior discussion with the bodies is a red flag for PASOK, as is the abuse of the right to vote by letter, which came into the everyday life of the Parliament due to covid, but remained and occupied the public sphere a lot in the summer in the vote for the pre-investigation committee for the ministers Voridis and Avgenakis, which in Harilaou Trikoupi they insist on citing as a “parliamentary coup”. It seems that in today’s debate the green faction will ask that the issue of postal voting be returned to the factory settings, i.e. the pre-coronavirus era.
In the parliament, the routine continues, according to competent sources, and this afternoon a meeting is expected to take place on the tax issue of the competent MPs and department heads of the party.
Of course, in Harilaou Trikoupi they are also preparing for the party’s presence in the Parliament for the debate which everything indicates will take place in the next few days in the plenary after the topical question submitted by Nikos Androulakis to the Prime Minister regarding the accuracy.
The president of PASOK-Movement for ChangeNikos Androulakis, met at noon on Wednesday with representatives of consumer associations. He made extensive reference to PASOK’s programmatic positions, such as the reduction of VAT on basic goods, the strengthening of DIMEA and the Competition Commission, and in addition presented a series of proposals for structural interventions.
“Since the last time we met, the problem of accuracy continues to be a dominant issue in Greek society. The measures taken by the government are ineffective, they have failed. They have failed to protect the income of the Greek people. All that has been allowed is a party of profiteering, speculation, oligopolies and cartels at the expense of Greek society” noted the President of PASOK.
In the intra-party field the executives of the green faction are waiting, at least until Monday when the Political Secretariat of K.O.E.S. will meet to decide the schedule of the Congress. All the issues that concern the faction are expected to be raised there, such as poll stagnation and the repeated blunders that squeeze the leadership.
