A 70-year-old man experienced moments of horror last night at the hands of his 31-year-old temporary roommate, in the center of Thessaloniki, when he was attacked with a hammer.

The episode happened in the apartment of the 31-year-old, in the center of Thessaloniki.

Just after 21:30 – and while the men were arguing – the 31-year-old grabbed a hammer and started hitting the elderly man on the head and body! The 31-year-old then took bank cards from the victim’s purse and left, leaving the 70-year-old covered in blood.

The abductor and the victim appear to be drug users, according to police sources, while the second lived temporarily at the particular house.

The 70-year-old man was transported by EKAV station to a hospital in the city, where he is being treated for chest injuries and body fractures, without his life being in danger.

The 70-year-old man was transported by ambulance to a city hospital, where he is being treated for chest injuries and body fractures.

Police officers of the White Tower Crime Investigation and Prosecution Department located the 31-year-old a little later and arrested him as part of the spontaneous procedure.

The two bank cards were found in his possession and confiscated.

A case file was filed against him for attempted murder and robbery, with which he is being brought before the prosecutor for criminal prosecution.
