“The opposition never ceases to amaze us! SYRIZA and PASOK denounced our bill on “red” loans and the protection of the vulnerable, but SYRIZA voted in favor of 51 articles and PASOK voted for 57, i.e. almost 50% of the bill!” states in his post the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis.

“In other words, they voted: The new, strict framework of transparency and penalties for servicers in relation to informing borrowers. The extension of the IRIS system to freelancers. While SYRIZA also voted for the provision of loans from non-banking organizations to increase competition.

It’s a wonder they voted against the improvements to the out-of-court mechanism which, among other things, ensure a fixed 3% interest rate on arrangements, an additional haircut of up to 28% and making the arrangement compulsory for the vulnerable! While at the same time, they voted against the changes to the Agency for the Acquisition and Re-letting of Properties, which when operational will be another tool for vulnerable borrowers to protect their residence. As well as the extension of the “Hercules” program to reduce “red loans” in banks.

The political rage blinds SYRIZA and PASOK who on the one hand pretend to be prosecutors and on the other hand vote for half of the provisions of the bills they denounce! While at the same time they vote against a number of very useful arrangements for the vulnerable, such as the strengthening of the extrajudicial mechanism. Once again they are proving to be political sponsors of the government!” concludes the minister’s post.
