The measures that the government is expected to take – in addition to the previous ones – to limit or even suppress fan violence were “locked” at the inter-ministerial meeting held at Megaros Maximos on Saturday morning, with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The announcements are expected to be made by the government representative on Monday morning, while the government is also in an “open line” with UEFA, in order to have a substantial cooperation and to take the most effective measures, based on the experience of its agents football.

The government has declared “radio silence” about the measures it has decided, however, according to information, two scenarios fell on the table:

1) Holding the games without fans

2) The suspension of all leagues

The main concern of the government lies in the possibility of fan violence being transferred from the stadiums and surrounding areas, to the streets of the cities.

The moves that will be made are being studied very carefully and it is not excluded that the measures will be implemented in stages, i.e. initially the empty platforms and then the interruption of the championships.

The final decisions will be announced on Monday by the government representative.
