The president of PASOK-Change Movement expressed his regret for the policeman who is fighting for his life and the “tragic development in the last hours, where unfortunately the man lost his leg, he is fighting for his life”
“Anyone who has been involved in such incidents of brutal violence or has been convicted in the past should be banned from any sporting activity. This will act as a deterrent for young people to follow others in such events” said Nikos Androulakis in an interview, in the evening, on the main ALPHA news bulletin.
The president of PASOK-Change Movement expressed his regret for the policeman who is fighting for his life and the “tragic development in the last hours, where unfortunately the man lost his leg, he is fighting for his life”.
He criticized the government and Kyriakos Mitsotakis as he has announced the same things many times. “Fan violence is one side of the coin. The other is organized crime. Hooligans must be dealt with in a directly legislative manner” he emphasized and added: “There is technology with cameras, with a nominal ticket. Mr. Mitsotakis has said these many times, they have not happened. Now for the government to come out and say that for two months people are banned from the stadium, it is thus punishing healthy fans as well. What does this measure help? Which helps to deal with fan violence?’
Nikos Androulakis reiterated the strategic goal for PASOK-KINAL in the European elections to be the second party with the ultimate goal, in the national elections, to be the “worthy opponent” of the ND. “We are not fighting for a temporary hegemony in the space of the Center-Left, my goal is for PASOK to be the second party in the European elections, but this goal has no ceiling. We want to give the people a way out, for New Democracy to go. And I believe that our faction will manage to be a worthy opponent” he underlined. Regarding the criteria for the composition of PASOK’s European ballot, Mr. Androulakis said that he wants to appoint young people with knowledge of European facts.
Regarding the possibility of cooperation with SYRIZA-PS under its new leadership, the president of PASOK-KINAL commented that today’s political problem is the great abstention and that “there must be a balance in the political system between the ND and the democratic faction in programmatic and ideological terms, so that there is not even more arrogance. Because the problem of Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ ND is arrogance”.
Regarding his party’s relations with the New Left, Mr. Androulakis seemed more open saying: “I wish there was a common place for the opposition in the Parliament and a strong voice against the politics of the ND.”
