On Wednesday, Parliament will vote on the amendment of the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum that was included in the insurance bill and provides for the conditional legalization of immigrants who work in our country.

Speaking in Parliament, Minister Dimitris Kairides emphasized that “the country is not changing its immigration policy and is strict against illegal trafficking.

He added that “we have a problem of shrinking the human resources of our country”, pointing out that “legal immigration, so to speak, can become a development engine.

At the same time, associates of Antonis Samaras refer to a statement of the government representative three months ago, where as they say – Mr. Marinakis had emphasized that “there is no intention of the Government for Greekization or legalization”.

Government sources comment that the arrangement has been sufficiently analyzed.

They emphasize that the difference between a one-off specific number of residence permits for work subject to the revocation and Greekizations is so obvious that further analysis is unnecessary.

SYRIZA and PASOK are in favor of the amendment, while the KKE calls for improvements.
