The issue of accuracy was mentioned, among other things, by the president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, in his interview with Nikos Hatzinikolaou on Real fm, stressing that our country is a champion in accuracy.

“Mr. Mitsotakis has instrumentalized inflation and made it a central tool of economic policy. The state collects billions from the overperformance of VAT and returns a minimal amount to citizens through passes. This is hostage politics. THE Greece presents a 57% discrepancy in terms of the purchasing power of the consumer compared to the average of the European Union” said Mr. Androulakis, repeating the proposal to reduce the VAT on food while the crisis lasts, intensive controls on the market and strengthening the consumer movement.

Regarding the acute housing problem, Mr. Androulakis described that “in the center of Athens, through the golden visa and short-term leases, apartment buildings have become hotels. Where will our children live? Does the Government not realize that these investments are causing the housing crisis? This problem has a name: Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Megaro Maximos has evolved into a real estate office. The Portuguese, the Spanish, the Irish are already suspending or abolishing the golden visa in real estate. I have pointed this out for six months, but Mr. Mitsotakis does not come to the Parliament”

Asked about the Greek-Turkish situation, the President of PASOK-Movement for Change spoke of a new Helsinki, where the “carrot” for Turkey will now be the economic perspective and the “whip” the automated sanctions whenever it violates international law and human rights at home her. “Helsinki had an architecture: we won for Cyprus to enter the European Union, – a huge national success. According to Helsinki, by gradually opening the accession funds for Turkey, we would reach a point through a pledge to go to The Hague and resolve the one issue we recognize, which is the delineation of maritime zones, and therefore the EEZ. I say the same, with the following difference: Turkey cannot become a member of the European Union. Anyone who believes that is out of touch with reality. So, we are taking it off the table to be fair and serious, and we are offering as a lure the upgrading of the customs union, which is what Turkey wants. Through this mechanism we introduce sanctions – when there is a problem – and we go, if we agree, to The Hague to draw maritime zones. Of course, this may not happen, because it takes two to dance the tango.”

In the wake of the government amendment by which he is removed from the Board of Directors. of “Anaplasi Athens S.A.” the newly elected mayor Haris Doukas, Mr. Androulakis noted: “Mr. Mitsotakis did not like the result of the self-governing elections and is doing what he usually does. He wants to control everything. He does not accept that he was defeated in the Municipality of Athens and removes his powers. The mayor is not responsible for the works carried out within the boundaries of the Municipality of Athens. For the reconstruction of Vasilissa Olga as well, according to the Minister of Culture. Of course, as long as Mr. Bakoyannis was Mayor, he had the authority for everything! A cover-up in Tempe. In interceptions a cover-up. In the Recovery Fund, whatever the company of Mr. Mitsotakis says. I strongly disagree with this management model, which is not modern, democratic, inclusive and does not serve transparency, meritocracy and the public interest. He only serves the chair of Mr. Mitsotakis.”

Mr. Androulakis pointed out the gaps in the government’s immigration policy. “Ask SETE how many workers are absent each year from the tourism industry. Ask the agricultural cooperatives how many are missing from the agricultural sector. The country is developmentally at risk from the lack of land workers and workers in general and we have no policy. This particular measure is a comfort to the sick. We had the disastrous Tsipras policy “whoever wants, comes”. Disagree. PASOK built the fence, PASOK believes that there are borders PASOK says that whoever wants to can’t enter the country. There are rules. This border guarded country will seriously determine who comes. From the tragic choice of Tsipras, we went to the other choice, of “doing nothing”, and we do not have a policy that covers the needs of the country. “New Democracy was scandalously delayed for ideological reasons,” he stressed.

Regarding the submitted bill of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Androulakis stated that “if a non-profit university is established on the standards of European and American universities with a campus, with research, we will not get in the way because we want to be a modern country. But the priority for us is the strengthening of the public university, which concerns millions of Greeks and not just the few. If, now, the New Democracy brings something, which undermines the public and trades degrees through a private and speculative market without criteria, then we will be negative.”

Regarding the withdrawal of the artwork from the Greek consulate in New York, Mr. Androulakis asked himself: “in which European country are these happening? Only Hungary does them. Is it possible for a serious country to censor art in such a vulgar way? I am very impressed that Mr. Mitsotakis is playing it like a pro-European politician. The choices of his minister are in consultation with him. And the arts are judged. But, I judge the arts in one way, I censor the arts in another.”

Regarding the political environment, Mr. Androulakis insisted: “I am a new person. I took over the leadership of our faction in difficult circumstances. And I think that we have made progress, renewal, robustness and clear – specific positions and this is also visible in our presence in the Parliament. My vision is for the center-left to become a government again, making Greece a normal European country, with universal respect for human rights, with a strong social state and a resilient competitive economy that will create good jobs.”

“I have strategically chosen to walk the difficult road to the end. Because this road will bring to the fore a new generation to govern Greece. Consistency, dignity, respect for the citizen, with people with whom we have common concerns, a common ideological base. And not people whom Androulakis will bring to the fore and make them ministers. I will not make any minister. Let everyone, with their own effort, come to us to build the modern great center-left. And I am addressing the voters of SYRIZA but also the voters of all the parties, who want a new model of administration and believe in the progressive brand of politics. Because the current – typically – official opposition continues to sponsor the New Democracy. Because it plays in a communicative, populist way,” he added.
“New Democracy has acquired many bad habits from its arrogance. Therefore, a strong center-left to end this walk of arrogance” concluded Mr. Androulakis.
