“There is no official agreement or even a memorandum of cooperation between Greece and Pakistan”, said Jawad Sohrab – Announcement from the Ministry of Labor
For his agreement Adonis Georgiadis with the Pakistani Minister of State for 500,000 workers from Pakistan in the construction sector, says the president of SYRIZA in a post on social media Stefanos Kasselakisat the same time that the Pakistani Minister of State, Jawad Sohrab, with his post on X, makes it clear that there is no agreement, much less for a number of workers that reaches 500,000.
“The Minister of State of Pakistan tells us that he has agreed with the Minister of Labor, Adoni Georgiadis, that 500,000 Pakistanis come to our country to work in the construction sector,” says Stefanos Kasselakis in a post on social media.
“Because even a pendulum has more credibility than Adonis Georgiadis”, comments the president of SYRIZA PS, “I ask the Prime Minister directly for two things:
1st: To confirm or deny the official posting of the Minister of State of Pakistan.
2nd: To apologize for every word he has uttered against SYRIZA during all these years on immigration.”
Mr. Kasselakis comments that “the N.D. he sold fences, hatred and intolerance in the run-up to the election, with the aim of exploiting the fear of many of our fellow citizens and as a result to usurp their vote.” He argues that “all it proves once again is that SYRIZA is the party that tells the truth”.

The Ministry of Labor also issued a statement on this matter:
On the occasion of publications that present the Minister of Labor and Social Security Adonis Georgiadis as having allegedly entered into a secret agreement with the special adviser of the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Labor issues, Mr. Jawad Sohrab, for the repatriation of 500,000 workers from Pakistan to Greece, the clarifying post he made on Twitter earlier today, restoring the truth.
In particular, Mr. Jawad Sohrab stated:
“CLARIFICATION – There is no official agreement nor even an understanding between Greece & Pakistan for any Pakistani migrant worker(s) participation in Greek construction industry. @AdonisGeorgiadi & I had explored the possibility of future collaboration. On a personal note, I was deeply impressed by Mr. Georgiadis’s integrity, patriotism & intellect to conceive new possibilities for his country”.
