Regarding the expected bill for the marriage of same-sex couples, the director of the Prime Minister’s press office spoke – among others – to ANT1

“The bill will come, because it solves problems. The prime minister has said that he will come and he will come in the order that he considers”, Dimitris Tsiodras emphasized.

Regarding the time when the bill will come, he said that, “the prime minister has said that it will come within 4 years. He said he would bring it and he will. He raised the issue. It’s not a matter of the Church, it’s a matter of the executive power.”

As for whether there will be a question of party discipline in the passing of the bill in question, he said that, “we are waiting for the bill to come and then we will see how it will be voted.”

Dimitris Tsiodras emphasized that the bill concerns “people and children we don’t see”, while he answered a related question that “marriage and childbearing go together, because obviously when you talk about marriage you also talk about childbearing. There is discrimination against children, which must be removed.”
