In particular, he announced that the next steps have to do with the visits, in the near future, to Jordan and Egypt, two countries that are actively involved in the diplomatic process to resolve the Middle East, as well as the upcoming visit of the Palestinian minister Foreigners in Athens.
In this context, he clearly conveyed that “Greece consistently, coherently, seriously, with the diplomatic capital it has, will be present in the developments in a creative way, so that, not only we have the necessary humanitarian aid , which should be continuously provided and sustainable, but in addition to start the discussion on how to sustainably resolve the Middle East crisis, based on the decisions of United Nations Security Council».
Referring to his visit to Riyadh, he noted that it is based on the extremely good bilateral relations that Greece has developed with Saudi Arabia.
Focusing on his meeting with his Saudi counterpart, Mr Gerapetritis said they discussed international developments and the major issue of the Middle East. “In this case we had the opportunity to discuss the next steps, to see the ways in which we will consolidate humanitarian aid, which should be provided in a sustainable way, as well as to discuss the next day in the Middle East. he stated.
It is pointed out that the Saudi Arabian foreign minister, as well as his counterparts, the Egyptian and Jordanian foreign ministers, will attend the EU Foreign Affairs Council, which will take place on January 22 in Brussels, by invitation.
