“3,470 loans have been disbursed for the “My Home” program, 336 million euros,” Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Sofia Zaharakis told SKAI and the show “Kalimera” with George Autias.

“At the same time, 4,200 loans have been contracted and 7,800 couples, 18,000 of our fellow citizens, who will have found their home by the end of 2024, are waiting,” he added.

Referring to the birth allowance, Ms. Zaharaki emphasized: “In April, the birth allowance will be given. It is very important to increase the amount, emphasizing that it is important in the battle for accuracy.”

Also, the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Sofia Zaharaki underlined that “about 10 thousand families out of the 75 thousand that gave birth in 2023 have three children and about 2,000 families have many children”, estimating that “those who will receive the amount retroactively will not have to submit new application but the amount will be credited to the existing account”.

Regarding the maternity allowance for professionals, Ms. Zaharaki noted “an injustice that has always existed is being corrected. Almost a salary more for the 9 months”, while referring to the bill on same-sex couples and childbearing, he stated: “we defend the rights of children and this is done with the logic of absolute respect for equality, in a society and a democracy, which respects its citizens”
