The upgrading of the country’s prestige by Kyriakos Mitsotakis is reflected not only in today’s result for the F-35 but also in the armament program, said the director of the Prime Minister’s Press Office
“Today is a good day for Greece. We received the letter from the American Secretary of State that puts Greece in the F-35 program, which is a closed club, not just anyone.». This was emphasized, among other things, by the director of the Prime Minister’s press office, Dimitris Tsiodrasspeaking today at noon during the meeting of the governing committee of the electoral district of Achaia, of the ND, in Patras.
As he added, “in 2019, Turkey was there and we were out” continuing: “Today we are getting the OK, to move forward, so that we can get aircraft of the newest generation and Turkey is ready to get the F-16s, to the extent of course that there is approval from the Congress”.
“These of course”, as he noted, “they could not have been done if Kyriakos Mitsotakis was not at the helm of the country” and added: “Nobody could have imagined that this would happen with Alexis Tsipras or anyone else. The upgrading of the country’s prestige by Kyriakos Mitsotakis is reflected not only in today’s result for the F-35 but also in the armament program, which the USA is giving to Greece. All this would cost the Greek taxpayers a lot of money, though the country is being strengthened defensively, precisely because of his policy he is following for which we have been accused of being given and tied to the American chariot”.
“We”, as Dimitris Tsiodras pointed out, “are members of NATO, we are allies with the USA, we are members of the European Union, we belong to the West, as Konstantinos Karamanlis said, and we are firmly oriented towards it”.
At the same time, he underlined that “we have good relations with the Arab world, with China, with India, but we are part of the West and we want this to be seen from the West’s side as well.”
“So we have”, he continued, “an international presence today with a man, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who, both in Europe and in America, enjoys a high prestige”.
Also, Dimitris Tsiodras said that “the reform project has started with momentum”, while speaking about the accuracy, he characterized it as a big issue and added: “What we can do is increases in salaries and pensions, so that the people have higher income. So when inflation subsides, the increases will remain, while the new increases that will come will be on top of what we have given now, so that at the end of the four years we will have the minimum wage at 950 euros andi 1,500 euro average salary which is also the goal».
At the same time, he continued, “we are looking at targeted support where there is the greatest need, we are carrying out checks on the market, so that there are no phenomena of profiteering and ‘bells’ are ringing from the relevant ministry”.
“Accuracy”, as he underlined, “is an imported and difficult phenomenon, since if there was an easy solution, the other European countries would have implemented it”.
Speaking about the European elections in June, he said that “they are of particular importance, not to confirm the political dominance of the ND, because that is a given, since the difference from the second party will be very important, but to prove that we are walking in a climate of political trust towards the government and this is very important to be reflected in the ballot box”.
