For the involvement of our country in the conflict in the Red Sea without consulting the government, the New Left on the occasion of the foreign minister’s statements.

In particular, it states that “the direct involvement of Greece in the military conflict in the Red Sea, announced the Minister of National Defense from Brussels. At a time when the destabilization in the wider region centered on the war in Palestine is becoming general, Nikos Dendias said: “I will offer Greece to take over the management of the operation. I will offer the headquarters of Larissa as a headquarters for the operation”. The New Left talks about “expressions that go back many decades and bring to mind “General, here is your army”. Decisions that put the country on dangerous adventures. Especially when these are taken without the slightest information and discussion”.

The New Left asks “who did he consult with? Mr. Dendias to “offer” the participation of the country and the military infrastructure and personnel and indeed in a leading role? Why hasn’t he informed the National Delegation about such a critical, strategic decision for the country’s interests?”

He argues conclusively that “as in the case of the F35 the government of Mr. Mitsotakis binds the country in secret” and emphasizes that “it is not just a policy of the predictable and willing ally”, but that “the N.D. has diverted the country’s foreign policy. From a pillar of stability and peace in the wider region, Greece is becoming a stronghold of destabilization.”
