The official said mechanical problems were likely to cause the crash, without giving further details.
Passengers who rode the banks of Ist River were struck by the Cuauhtémoc vessel sailing lightly with open sails to the bridge, but without allowing it to pass through it safely.

According to the Mexican Navy, 22 people were injured, of which 3 are serious. All injuries occurred on board, according to authorities.
The videos show many people, dressed in white naval uniforms, hanging from the sails, while passers -by at the base of the bridge bridge rushing to get away as they see the ship approaching.
None of the occupants “did not fall into the water, which means that it was not necessary to carry out rescue operations,” the Mexican Navy said in a statement.
The Brooklyn Bridge, a popular tourist attraction, which connects the areas of Brooklyn and Manhattan in New York, was completed in 1883.
