Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his satisfaction with the speed with which the reconstruction project of the Tzanei hospital is being implemented during the ceremony of the inauguration of the new wing.

He noted that there had been substantial reconstruction since 1960, stressing that those who work or are hospitalized there can make the comparisons.

Referring to the new wards he said that they now have toilets, so that we can provide decent nursing and working conditions in a hospital that is so identified with the city of Piraeus.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis.

As Kyriakos Mitsotakis pointed out, the resources used for the reconstruction “come from the Recovery Fund and I want to thank TAIPED as the implementing body for the very high speed with which it launches important projects which in our hospitals alone exceed 300 million euros” .

“It is the best proof that the resources of the Recovery Fund are taking place and we are launching projects that have been taking a long time to upgrade public health and the national health system,” added the Prime Minister who thanked all the workers as, as he said, “it is not easy to you proceed with such an intervention with the hospital in operation”.

Then Mr. Mitsotakis underlined that “better working conditions for you mean better hospital conditions for the patients who come and are hospitalized at Tzanio. This is how we envisage the new health system with quality infrastructure, with substantial utilization of European resources, and in this direction we will continue to work”.
