A number of improved proposals have been submitted by the government and are being evaluated by those involved, the Minister of Rural Development stressed
“The government, first of all the prime minister, has opened the doors to dialogue and is keeping it alive,” the Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis repeated from Heraklion, commenting, in view of the farmers’ decisions for mobilizations and a descent on Tuesday in Athens, that ” it is not a “bra de fer” between the government and the protesters”, since as he emphasized “we respect and understand the difficulties, problems and particularities”.
The minister underlined that “we stand with brave initiatives to face the problems and we will continue as long as the country’s economy is improving”.
Mr. Avgenakis also mentioned that the government has submitted a series of improved proposals that are being evaluated by those involved.
“Some wanted more, some are satisfied and some others feel that there is trust, support, real and continuous interest from the government”, noted Lefteris Avgenakis, concluding that “we remain open to dialogue and available to start this common effort”.
