“He managed to make one mistake after another in the last few days the MP for Larisa of SYRIZA and member of the examination committee Vassilis Kokkalis, demonstrating an extreme anti-institutional behavior» say circles of the majority in the investigation committee for Tempi. As they report, “initially, his questions and manner towards Mr. Karamanlis provoked the reactions of even his like-minded people, which irritated Mr. Kokkalis who got up and left the Examining House…”.

They note that “a few days later, the SYRIZA MP disparaged and attacked the witness-survivor of the tragic accident, Andreas Alikaniotis, going so far as to criticize him for a… cake his mother made for him!”.

Her circles add that (Mr. Kokkalis) “undeterred, he continued today committing a major institutional blunder, when he read a document to the Examiner that he received from the Larisa Prosecutor’s Office, without this document having reached the Commission. A document which responded to Mr. Kokkalis himself, who completely out of context addressed himself as a member of parliament and a member of the Commission directly to the Larissa Prosecutor’s Office, a procedure that is not provided for anywhere and which proves the attempt to instrumentalize the parallel criminal procedure for non-political persons .

And as if that wasn’t enough, quite by chance the document in question, which was addressed to the president of the investigation committee but had not been officially forwarded, was read by members of the committee on a friendly site of SYRIZA. A document which only said that the matter in question is before the competent Board of Appeals and nothing more.”

They even conclude, stressing that “it is obvious that these extreme and anti-parliamentary attitudes of Mr. Kokkalis only prove the great anxiety of some to instrumentalize such a serious case at the expense of the truth and for the sake of cheap demagoguery.”
