The crucial meeting of the Political Secretariat of SYRIZA-PS ended with a compromise.

According to a press release of the party “after an extensive, productive and honest discussion and with full awareness of the current situation for the major issues that concern and afflict Greek society:

a) mutual trust and support was expressed between the president and the members of the Political Secretariat,

b) the function of PG as a political center was reaffirmed”.

In this context, “the Conference will be held from Thursday 22/2 until 25/2, based on the positions discussed during the pre-conference dialogue. It will be a reboot and rebuild conference that will mark the ‘Progressive Strike Now,’” according to the announcement.

Executives of the Political Secretariat, for their part, noted that “the Political Secretariat confirmed its confidence in the person of the party president and he, for his part, expressed his confidence in the Political Secretariat”.

According to information, the president of the party revoked a letter he had sent at Monday’s meeting in which he blamed the Political Secretariat for the image of the party, while withdrawing his “request” for a “blank check” until 2027 (the next elections). In this context, it seems that the differences have been temporarily smoothed out so that they can proceed to the next day’s conference and march together towards the European elections where everything will be discussed again.
