The government amendment to increase the housing allowance for students by €500 was submitted to the Parliament late on Monday night.
The relevant provision stipulates that the amount of the annual housing allowance for eligible students studying at HEIs outside the Attica Region or the Thessaloniki Regional Unit is set at 2,000 euros from the 1,500 euros currently in effect. In the case of cohabitation of the eligible student with another student, the amount increases to 2,500 euros from 2,000 euros.

With article 3 of the same amendment, the imposition of the sanction of a match behind closed doors in case of illegal behavior is limited to national competitions (throwing into the playing field or the changing room during or after the end of the match an object that can cause physical harm, such as the flare, the firecracker, the smoke generator, etc.).
The amendment has been submitted to the Ministry of Education bill for the operation of branches of non-state universities in Greece and is expected to be introduced to the plenary on Wednesday, in order to be voted on on Friday
