“Those who try to intimidate both me and the New Democracy faction are in vain. I am in politics to serve my ideas and positions. I will continue to carry out my parliamentary duties, fighting conscientiously and consistently, having as a beacon in my political course my values ​​and ideals, with which I walk in my 20-year journey in the commons”. The above is emphasized by the ND Member of Parliament for Thessaloniki, Anna Efthymiou, in her statement on the occasion of a letter being plastered on the wall in her law office, from the “Youth Front of the People’s Association – Golden Dawn”, regarding the passing of the Bill for same-sex couples.

“On Tuesday 5/3/2024 I received the attached letter in my e-mail. This morning, upon arriving at my lawyer’s office, I found that the letter was stuck on the wall at the entrance of the apartment building next to my professional sign with my name and my legal capacity” says Ms. Efthymiou in her statement, expressing the certainty that “these the actions of intimidation and thuggery are condemned by the whole political world and the democratic society of Thessaloniki”.

Among other things, the letter describes the vote in favor of the bill as “a direct insult against the values ​​of Hellenism and the principles of the Orthodox Faith” which “exposes an uncontrolled number of vulnerable, minor members of Greek society to immediate danger, and brutally affects their fundamental rights”.

“Finally, we pledge that we will do our utmost to remind the Greek People of your above value choice, until you are removed from any public elected office” the letter concludes.
