The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis co-chaired this morning, together with his Irish counterpart Micheál Martin, at a round table on agriculture and sustainable development, within the framework of the European Union-African Union Summit.
In his statements, Kyriakos Mitsotakis focused on coordination for the protection of farmers’ incomes and the rural economy.
The Prime Minister stressed the priority given by Greece to the agricultural sector as a factor of sustainable development – linked to the traditions and culture of each people – while referring to the challenges posed by climate change and affecting the entire agri-food sector.
Mr. Mitsotakis noted that the central goal of the Greek government is to support rural areas and to strengthen the tools through which external factors and uncertainties affecting areas based on the primary will be addressed, in a coordinated manner at European level. sector as well as the income of producers.
