The President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, met today with the lawyer – labor expert Kostas Tsoukalas, the educator Maria Dafermou and the engineer Olga Markogiannakis, who will be the Movement’s MEP candidates.

Mr. Androulakis stated presenting their candidacy:

“The European elections of June 9 are a crucial battle for the future of Europe, our country and the Democratic Party. Today, therefore, we begin.
With renewal as a compass, we present our first three nominations.
– The educator Maria Dafermou.
– The labor lawyer Kostas Tsoukalas.
– The engineer Olga Markogiannakis.

Three young people with scientific competence and social credibility, who can achieve a lot for the benefit of our people in the European Parliament. I am particularly honored that we will fight the European elections together.”

The biographies of the three candidates

Kostas Tsoukalas

Kostas Tsoukalas, born in 1985, is today considered one of the most reliable social scientists in our country, having recorded an extremely active and successful career as a labor lawyer since 2010, the year in which he founded his personal law office.

Specializing in labor, insurance-pension and banking law, Kostas Tsoukalas has successfully defended hundreds of borrower and employee cases, forming part of the prevailing jurisprudence of the country’s highest courts. His career path includes the judicial cancellation of hundreds of auctions and the achievement of significant debt cancellations of over-indebted households, strengthening social justice and protection.

Graduated from the School of Law of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens and holder of a master’s degree in “Political Science and Sociology”. Since his student years he has been actively involved in social and trade union activity.

He is married and the father of three daughters.

Olga Markogiannakis

Olga Markogiannaki was born and raised in Kozani, while her origins also come from Crete. He is Dr. Civil Engineer from AUTH, with a Master’s Degree from Columbia University, New York. She is the co-founder of a start-up company that has developed innovative tools for predicting the behavior of buildings and infrastructures after natural disasters as well as a spin-off of the University of Western Macedonia.

From her student years she was a member of PASP and PASOK youth. From 2022 he is an elected member of the Central Political Committee and the Political Council of PASOK. She is the elected Secretary General of the Civil Engineers Association of Greece.

She is married and the mother of two boys.

Maria Dafermou

Maria Dafermou was born in 1983 and grew up in Chania. She graduated from the Philology Department of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Crete and continued her studies obtaining her second degree with honors from the School of Pedagogical Sciences of the same University, specializing in the effect of the gender factor on language acquisition. At the same time, she obtained her master’s degree in linguistics, specifically gender and gender in education.

Today she is a PhD candidate and researcher at the University of Crete, researching gender stereotypes in education.

She has founded the Citizens’ Initiative for the promotion of gender equality isotis.eu. He is the Secretary of the Equality Sector of PASOK from 2022. He works as an educator. She is married and the mother of a daughter.
