Kyriakos Mitsotakis was at the Kotroni Air Base – “Approaches are constantly enforced but under no circumstances are illusions allowed” he said, among other things, sending a message to Turkey
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended the event for the receipt of three Romeo MH-60R Seahawk helicopters from the Navy at the Kotroni Air Base today, Wednesday.
“These helicopters enhance their value in an era, in times when geopolitical instability in our wider region is unfortunately intensifying. And despite the calm that fortunately now prevails in the Aegean, we must not forget that our neighbors to the east are also accelerating their own armaments program. Approaches are constantly imposed, however under no circumstances are illusions allowed. And we must all be wise but never naive, staying fixed on the compass that always points to peace, international law and cooperation,” said the prime minister, among other things.
Present at the presentation was also the Minister of Defense, Nikos Dendias who earlier in his post on X wrote:
“Today, at the ceremony in the presence of @PrimeministerGR Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Naval Base in Marathon, we receive the new MH-60 ROMEO helicopters. Greece even stronger!”

Greece will receive a total of seven such helicopters. After receiving the first three helicopters, the remaining four will arrive in 2025, completing the purchase of the Greek Navy. Helicopters have sophisticated detection, strike and countermeasures systems that offer unique capabilities in the three-dimensional battle space of naval conflicts of our time.
