“Elections in Greece are always held with the presence of international observers. The same happens permanently in all the countries that belong to the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe). Therefore, we are not talking about an unheard-of practice for Greek data” said sources from SYRIZA today.

The same sources noted that “the reason requested by the President of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, the assistance of the European Union to strengthen the observation of the elections, has to do with the very reasons for which the resignation of Kyriakos was immediately requested Mitsotakis and the appeal to parliamentary elections:

» For the action of one self-proclaimed staff state that functions as a parastate at the expense of the functioning of institutions and the individual rights and freedoms of citizens.

» There are already elections in Greece with the presence of international observers, but in the last elections (May 23) specific recommendations have been made by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

» ODIHR is the human rights body of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)

» We are facing a government with a specific history of institutional and democratic missteps:

“The tampering of the audio documents of the Tempe crime in a way that reinforces the government’s narrative of human error, and intended, among other things, to influence the Justice’s investigations and conclusions accordingly, is “the last straw.”

» Government officials linked to the prime minister’s office are being investigated for the tampering with the site of the Tempe tragedyagainst the needs of unhindered investigation of the scene of the tragedy.

» In March, the misappropriation of the personal data of thousands of expatriates held by the Ministry of the Interior, by the ND party, was admitted. Another scandal that directly raises the issue of election volatility.

“Previously, we experienced a scandal of eavesdropping by the EYP and through illegal surveillance software, which was enough to “bring down” three governments, not just one.”
