Arriving at the meeting, the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, referred to the important role of Greece as an energy gateway, in transport and logistics in Southeast Europe
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is in Vilnius, Lithuania for the Three Seas Initiative Summit. Arriving at the meeting, the prime minister referred to the important role of Greece as an energy gateway, in transport and logistics in Southeast Europe, with the port of Alexandroupoli as the protagonist, which plays a dominant role, and in the energy support of the rest of the Balkan countries.
“As you know Greece has been an official member of the Three Seas initiative since last year and it is a first opportunity to represent my country at this important meeting which is taking place at a time of significant geopolitical instability in Europe. Greece can contribute significantly to the Three Seas Initiative by opening the southern corridor of connectivity whether it includes transport or energy as we can become the natural gateway for energy whether it is natural gas or renewable energy from the south to the north. And if one thinks about this in geographical terms, Greece is now a member of the 3 Seas Initiative and is justified in being called the 4 Seas Initiative as the southern corridor in the Aegean has been opened. I look forward to interesting discussions” said the prime minister.
