Response to the president of SYRIZA-PS, Alexis Tsipras who accused the government of direct assignments issued in a statement by the government spokesman, Giannis Oikonomou.
In his statement, Mr. Economou speaks of “Syriza accounting” which, as he says, is employed by “Mr. Tsipras in order to invent an opposition narrative and in the end brings out a great deal”.
The government spokesman underlines that “While until now he was talking about direct assignments of 5 billion euros, today the amount has risen to 7 billion”, noting that “to reach the number he wants, he adds contracts of Municipalities and Regions but also closed competitions “.
As Mr. Economou points out, “the direct assignments of the central state amounted to 1.7 billion.”
His statement in detail Giannis Oikonomou as follows:
Mr. Tsipras, in order to invent an opposition narrative, re-employs “Syriza accounting” and in the end makes a fuss. While until now he was talking about direct assignments of 5 billion euros, today the amount has risen to 7 billion. Of course, direct assignments were reduced by Mr. Tsipras himself to 2.7 billion and in order to reach the number he wants, he adds contracts of the Municipalities and Regions but also closed competitions.
The truth is that according to the official and indisputable data of KIMDIS, in the period 2020-21 the direct assignments of the central state amounted to 1.7 billion. The need for the assignments arose from the stressful conditions of the time in which they were made and the extraordinary conditions that the country faced. The procedures followed were completely legal and transparent. All the contracts under the jurisdiction of the Court of Auditors have received its approval. That’s nothing to do with pastures and the strange journeys of millions. “
