“Accuracy is temporary and imported – Increases in wages and pensions are permanent,” said the Deputy Secretary of Labor
“Accuracy is temporary and imported”, the Deputy Minister of Labor said to SKAI and on the program “Kalimera” with Akis Pavlopoulos Vassilis Spanakis.
“Accuracy is the number 1 issue for all European citizens, but the Mitsotakis government in recent years, with more success than other European countries, has de-escalated these pressures,” he added.
As he pointed out, “food inflation – which is the big problem – decreased from January to March by 3%. Estimates show that we will have a de-escalation of inflationary pressures in the next period. In 2025, the growth rate in our country will exceed inflation. This will happen in the second half of 2025.”
Referring to the salaries, Mr. Spanakis emphasized that “with the average salary having reached 1250 euros, with a government commitment to reach 1500 euros. In tourism, the average salary is above the average of other professions.”
“Increases in salaries and pensions will continue and are permanent. Inflationary pressures are temporary and will de-escalate”, commented the Deputy Minister of Labor.
Asked about her 6 days employment, Mr. Spanakis clarified that “it is provided for the businesses of continuous operation. At the moment, we have ensured that if someone works on the sixth day, they go with a 40% surcharge and if they go on a Sunday, 75% of that day’s pay. This is done in a specific way and a specific process. The 6-day work can exist under certain conditions”.
