Three reasons for the citizens to give a positive vote to PASOK, the president of PASOK-Movement of Change, Nikos Androulakis, highlighted in his television interview.

Speaking to Mega, Mr. Androulakis underlined that “the first reason is to disapprove of New Democracy. The second reason is to have a serious, strong and credible opposition that will force Mr. Mitsotakis to change his trope, to look at the real problems of the Greek people and at the same time have a government option in the next national elections. And the third reason is that at the European level, PASOK represents the European Socialists, who have stood by the national and economic interests of the country consistently in relation to the European People’s Party and the rest”.

Answering a related question, he placed himself in the debate on the reconstruction of the Center-Left.

Mr. Androulakis emphasized how “if PASOK is not the pillar of the Center-Left’s restructuring, this change will never happen.” He referred to what is happening in Spain and Portugal where he noted that “Social Democracy was the one that opened the way to defeat the conservative parties”.

Leaving clear points against the Official Opposition, Nikos Androulakis stated that SYRIZA and its leadership cannot express the world of the Center-Left in any case.

“How can you express the world of the Left, the real anxieties of the citizens who are in a difficult situation, when in the biggest housing crisis that the people are going through, you go and advertise a 2 million euro house and say, in fact, to the journalist “you are not the my accountant” even at the time when you have not filed where you came from”.

“A political leader should before the elections say: “here, I submit where you are from”, he said, attacking St. Kasselakis and added: “If PASOK does not have a strong percentage to call to the forefront not to the background – because we hear many scenarios – in programmatic convergence forces such as people who voted for New Democracy but understand that the arrogance of Mr. Mitsotakis has caught red, people of the Left who understand that this leadership does not represent the Left but something else. If any citizen wants to send a message to New Democracy, it is worth voting for PASOK, because all the defeats Mr. Mitsotakis’ system of power has suffered come from my own initiatives, either in the matter of wiretapping, in the matter of Tempi or in the municipal elections. Mr. Androulakis also referred to the candidacy of F. Beleris and commented on the resolution proposed by Dora Bakoyannis for Kosovo to join the Council of Europe saying that “in the case of Mr. Beleris, Mr. Mitsotakis’ motives are not national, they are suffragettes. At the same time, the parliamentarians of the ND are promoting the inclusion of Kosovo in the Council of Europe and the Greek foreign minister disagrees. That is, Ms. Bakoyannis and the MPs of New Democracy vote for Kosovo to join the Council of Europe and the Foreign Minister of New Democracy says otherwise. Mr. Androulakis also said that he highlighted the increased cost of living for households and the collapse of the welfare state. He noted that PASOK-KINAL proposed a new EKAS for 350,000 low-pensioners to live with dignity and to be given the retroactive benefits that the Court decided exist in installments so as not to result in a large fiscal footprint.

Mr. Androulakis pointed out the immediate need to regenerate the NHS by making use of the Recovery Fund in order to create strong primary care networks everywhere and to join the heavy and unhealthy doctors and nurses.
