Thirty years have passed today since the death of Giorgos Gennimatas and on the occasion of this anniversary, the president of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, in his post on social networks glorified the contribution of Giorgos Gennimatas to the creation and operation of the NSS.

Specifically, Nikos Androulakis mentions:

The visionary Giorgos Gennimatas, who paved pioneering paths in his political path and left us today 30 years ago, starred in this leading reform, because access to high-quality free public health services is an inalienable right of citizens.

Today, with the government continuing to devalue this key pillar of the welfare state, with Greek citizens paying the second highest private health costs in the EU, our fight to regenerate the NHS, strengthen primary care and covering staff shortages is the best way to honor his memory.
