The president of the KO of the New Left sent a letter to the prime minister in order to accept the request of the LARCO workers for a meeting Alexis Haritsis.

“The privatization of such a heavy industry, of particular strategic importance for the Greek economy, with special management as a vehicle and on terms that are completely unprofitable for the State is one problematic aspect of the case of LARCO“, notes Al. Haritsis, adding that “the other, equally important, problematic side concerns the workers, who have been in a hostage situation for a long time now and see their few hopes disappear while worrying about their future and that of their children”.

“The children of LARCO employees, either students who are just before the end of the school year, with some of them preparing for national exams, or students who are preparing for the summer exam period, live these days of Easter holidays with the anxiety of the next day which will mean abandoning their home and their place, financial problems or unemployment for their parents, with the sole responsibility of your government and its choices”, he says characteristically and concludes:

“Mr. Prime Minister, thinking of the families of the workers, I call on you to respond immediately and in a timely manner to the request that the labor unions have submitted to LARCO for a meeting with you.”
