Mr. Marinakis visited the market of Argos where he talked with shopkeepers and citizens
The prefecture of Argolis visited a faction of New Democracy in view of the June 9 European elections.
The head of the echelon was the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and Government Representative Pavlos Marinakiswhile the general secretary of Infrastructure Konstantinos Magoulas, the general secretary of Culture Georgios Didaskalou, the member of parliament of Argolis Yiannis Andrianos, the president of DEEP Argolis Panagiotis Zacharias and its members as well as executives of the municipal local organizations of the party participated.
Mr. Marinakis visited the market of Argos where he talked with shopkeepers and citizens. He also met with the mayor of Argos-Mycenae Yiannis Maltezos and the Metropolitan of Argolis Mr. Nectary. He then went to Nafplion, where he visited the Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos and had meetings with the deputy governor of Argolis, Ioannis Manzounis and the Mayor of Nafplion, Dimitris Orfanos.
In his speech at an enlarged meeting of the Argolida DEEP, Mr. Marinakis pointed out:
“These 50 years of the New Democracy, the 50 years of the Hellenic Republic, happened to coincide with a very critical, – I will definitely say the most critical – European elections process.
The New Democracy ballot is a very worthy ballot, as it always has been since 2014.
The difficult times are behind us, yes, the years we spent were very difficult, but that does not justify any complacency. The presence of the country in Europe is no longer at stake, it is not at stake whether we will have a government that will fortify the borders and the country will not become a vine again, it is not at stake whether we will go bankrupt. However, everything we have achieved in recent years does not mean that it is self-evident. In the European elections, it will be decided whether we will be represented in Brussels by those who ask for money to be cut for Greece, or by those who bring money to Greece. If those who want a Common Agricultural Policy harmful to the interests of farmers, or those who want, like us, a mild adaptation to the green transition, will go to Europe. Will those who want Greece’s support go, as we are already doing, by bringing additional resources for Greece, for migration and for natural disasters, or will those who simply discredit Greece go.
This is the essence of the European elections.
What does the opposition say today? What is her schedule? Let Mitsotakis fall. The Government should fall. This is the program of the opposition. It is a sum of parties, disparate, united only in one thing. Let Mitsotakis fall.
However, this Government is evaluated day by day by the Greek citizens and will be evaluated at the end of the four years, when the next national elections will be held, in 2027. Consider, then, what will happen if on June 10, it is not confirmed, again, undoubtedly the stability of the country. In every big cut that the Government will have to make, every time the police will have to enter the universities to evacuate them from those who are occupying them, as today in Law, when we want to legislate reforms again such as the non-state Universities, the postal vote, the economic program, which we have already legislated by 50%, the afternoon surgeries, they will come out and say “hold elections, you have no legalization”.
The only solution is to stop the propaganda in the most democratic way: There is one way, the June 9 European elections. This is the time of responsibility, the time of action.”
