Table of Francis Bacon that had been stolen from a banker’s residence in 2015 was recovered by Spanish police.

The table found is one of five portraits of Spanish banker Jose Capello which are worth a total of 25 million euros ($27.1 million).

The paintings were stolen nine years agoin what is believed to be the largest heist in the country’s history.

Three of the five stolen paintings were recovered in 2017. 16 people were arrested for the robbery, including the person who allegedly organized the robbery.

Born in Dublin, Bacon is one of the most influential painters of the 20th century. He frequently visited Madrid and died of a heart attack in the city in 1992, aged 82.

At an auction organized by Sotheby’s in New York in May last year, the painter’s Portrait of George Dyer Crouching (1966) sold for $27.7 million.

“Investigations are continuing to locate one more project and arrest its owners centered on Spanish nationals linked to organized groups from Eastern Europe,” a police statement said.
