Sparta was visited by the president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, as part of his two-day tour of the Peloponnese.

Stefanos Kasselakis spoke in a warm atmosphere with residents of the capital of Laconia about all the issues that concern them.

The next stop on his tour is Kalamata.

After the dialogue with the citizens, the President of SYRIZA-PS stated the following:

“I am very happy to be in Laconia. I think this is the third or fourth time I’ve been here. I know that Laconia has a right-wing tradition. I respect that but, at the same time, I urge citizens to think about whether they are satisfied with the precision they experience when the Prime Minister of the country chooses not to put an extraordinary tax on bank profits, as we propose, and not to reduce VAT on basic goods. This accuracy is a political choice, which he used to say was “imported” and today he calls our country a “banana”.

Let the citizens think if they are happy with the National Health System, with the care, which I know that Sparta and all of Laconia have big problems, while for years, large packages have passed from Europe and we should have been fortified this moment in our public health. And apparently, instead, we see afternoon surgeries and private clinics.

And finally, if they are proud that in our country there is no political responsibility for the crime of Tempe, that there is a cover-up by the ruling faction. As there will be no political responsibility for the 400,000 euros, which we citizens will pay for the embezzlement of voters’ private data. In other words, they take our personal data and, at the same time, we pay the fine of the Ministry of Interior.

We are therefore a country that is entitled to have people and institutions – Justice, Democracy – at the center, and solidarity. And not a country that will be satisfied with impunity, arrogance and a precision of oligopolies and profiteering.

All these slogans are a political choice. And I testify to all of you that our proposal is not only cost-effective: it is necessary for the flourishing of the whole society and especially the province”
