“The prime minister should leave the evasions and proceed with the immediate recognition of the Palestinian state”
The view expressed by the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakisthat “it is not the right time” for the recognition of a Palestinian state commented, with his post on social media, the president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis.
Referring to what Mr. Mitsotakis said about the need to follow “a road map” first, Mr. Kasselakis emphasized:
“Which road map does he mean? Netanyahu’s road map? The road map of the settlements that the UN has condemned? There is no road map to the slaughter of a people.”
“There is no better time than now when all of Europe is mobilizing and already three countries, Spain, Ireland, Norway, have proceeded with the recognition”, he noted, calling on the prime minister “to leave the evasions and proceed with the immediate recognition of the Palestinian state, which is a guarantee of peaceful coexistence of the Israeli and Palestinian people in the Middle East”.
“Greece has always been on the right side of history in terms of the observance of international law and the struggles of the peoples for independence. I call on the prime minister not to tarnish this national heritage of ours”, concluded the president of SYRIZA-PS.
“It is not the right time,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis said yesterday about the recognition of a Palestinian state, but he would like to do it someday, after following a road map.
