“We too have a responsibility to stand up and fight against the difficult conditions that our society is currently experiencing“, emphasized Stefanos Kasselakis from his visit to Amaliada and the Museum for Nikos Belogiannis, accompanied by the mayor of the city, Christos Christodoulopoulos.

Previously, the president of SYRIZA PS had toured the Tower of Ilias where he had the opportunity in the city center to talk with many residents of the area.

From the museum, Stefanos Kasselakis stated the following:

“I am deeply moved and aware that we are and I am small in front of the stature of this man who is behind me, Nikos Belogiannis, who fought for his ideas, for the freedom of his homeland, for justice, for democracy , equality, equality. And the only thing I feel right now is the modern Left – that which has in its DNA to govern in order to change the place for the good of our weakest fellow citizens, for the good of democracy and institutions – so we have the responsibility and for us to stand up and fight against the difficult conditions that our society is currently experiencing, such as the circumvention of the rule of law, the violation of human rights, individual freedoms – whether this is called monitoring or it is called Tempi or propaganda.

The challenges are similar. ‘Another wrap, with apparently another 2024 treaty, but the challenges end with the story that existed then, which ‘the man with the carnation’ fought for. So, I commit myself to the world of the Left, to the world of SYRIZA. And I am so proud that SYRIZA took the lead as a government so that this museum could be completed. And throughout the democratic world let us stand worthy of the history of Belogiannis and the fighters of our democracy, so that this country can feel proud of the future it will leave to its children».
