The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias, refers to the fires that broke out today, and in particular to those in Penteli, Chios and Boeotia, in his post on “X”, stressing among other things that “applying the new doctrine in forest firefighting, aerial means and strong ground forces attempted immediately and coordinated from the first moment the fires started resulting in all three being tackled in about 45 minutes».

Specifically, Mr. Kikilias points out in his post:

“Thirty-seven new agroforestry fires broke out in the last 24 hours. The most dangerous were in Dau Pentelis, in Chios and also in Aliarto Boeotia where our firefighters extinguished one fire after another. Applying the new doctrine to forest firefighting, aerial means and powerful ground forces attempted immediately and coordinated from the first moment the fires started, with the result that all three were dealt with in about 45 minutes!».
