A call for mass participation and support for the KKE ballot in the European elections, was addressed by the General Secretary of the party from Patras, during his pre-election speech Dimitris Koutsoubas.

He noted that “every vote in the KKE, the next day, will be found where you need it: In the collective claim for wage increases, for relief measures from punctuality, for free Health and Education, to stop Greece’s participation in wars”.

Referring to the stability, with which, as he noted, “the ND and Mr. Mitsotakis are blackmailing the people”, one thing means: to be able to escalate the anti-popular measures undisturbed the next day”.

He added: “They say so themselves. If they do not achieve high percentages, they will have the people on the street protesting and the investors will be “scared”! They will probably mean those who send ravings to the workers, blackmailing them that they must vote, not only for the ND, but certainly for some party that is in favor of the EU, otherwise there will be – they say – adventures.

However, all of you, political scumbags, have put us in trouble! How else can they tell us that what really scares those who exploit the working people is the strengthening of KKE and the struggles of the people?

Regarding the possibility of low voter turnout, he noted that “abstention from the elections does not send any message of condemnation of the government and the EU. Abstention is ultimately a ‘blank check’, tolerance of this inhumane policy.” That is why no government anywhere in the world has ever sweated the ear of the high rate of abstention.

And he called on the citizens for massive participation and reinforcement of the KKE ballot, characterizing the party as a perennial opponent of this policy. And he added: “Let’s put all of them on adventures, in a whirlwind so that the people can breathe, come out powerfully in the foreground. Only in this way can the air in the Mitsotakis government be really cut off. For their arrogance to be struck, their politics, the politics of the EU, must first of all be struck, condemned.”

He characterized as lost any vote for parties that, together with the ND, glorify and beautify the EU and support its directions, noting that “they are the “golden” sponsors for the anti-popular policies and the “opposition” they make to the Mitsotakis government, always with the directives and the EU’s “average conditions” in hand, like a gospel, is taken out of their wildest dreams”.

He also added that: “there is no room for more lost years and new delusions” pointing out that “the ‘progressive alternative’ within this exploitative system, within the EU of lobbies, monopolies and wars, which fuel SYRIZA, PASOK and New Left, it’s a new round of mockery of the people. No pardon should be given to old sins of parties, such as PASOK of the three memoranda, of co-government with the ND and Karatzaferis”.

And he noted: “Who can forget that together they abolished Collective Labor Agreements, the 13th and 14th salary in the public sector, closed hospitals, cut pensions?”

Mr. Androulakis, who came and spoke a few days ago here in Patras about Andreas Papandreou, should remember them. After all, he was secretary of PASOK when they all sat in the same ministerial chairs as Mitsotakis, Adonis, Voridis and the other guys. Those whom he is now supposed to persecute…”

Mr. Koutsoumbas asked “that no amnesty be given to SYRIZA and the New Left, who co-governed with the far-right ANEL and raised the VAT to 24%, cut the EKAS for low-pensioners, gave the world’s loans to the crows of the funds, sold ports and airports”.

And he pointed out that “all together followed this course, always in the name of “necessary compromises”, the “lesser evil” and “governability”. This is, however, the path that necessarily leads eventually to looking for a clone of Mitsotakis bass and he manages to face off against the normal Mitsotakis… And they found him in the ship owner from America, Mr. Kasselakis.

We do not forget who washed away all the anti-popular policy, rebaptized it with the label of “self-evident”, finally gave wind to the sails of the ND, and brought Mitsotakis “on horseback” to point the finger at us.

They are the ones who tell us even today that there is no alternative to the brutality of capitalism, the EU of monopolies, the “sacred defense alliance” of NATO.

Referring to Mr. Velopoulos and Mrs. Konstantopoulou, he stated that “we have no confidence in the “falling stars” of the system, who all they do is to put on populist shows in the Parliament, to hide their agreement with the government and the EU and to equate their alleged non-existence with the struggles of our people and the living social processes”.

Mr. Koutsoubas emphasized that “the vote for the KKE is a vote for more aggressive struggles for every need of the workers, to win more conquests today and to strengthen the perspective for the radical changes that the country needs”.

He called on the citizens to turn the elections into the biggest anti-war demonstration by noting: “Cast the only ballot that says in big letters: ‘No to the wars of the imperialists’ and ‘freedom in Palestine.’ And this is the KKE ballot. To strengthen the fight for the disengagement of our country from the war plans”.

He also noted that the people must own the wealth they produce, with the keys to development and the economy in their own hands, with their own power, in a society free from EU and NATO commitments. And he concluded: “Be sure that many would like to be out of the loop with all of this, not to be heard, not to be questioned about their basic choices. But it hasn’t passed them by and it won’t. Because there is a strong Communist Party of Greece here, and on Sunday it will get even stronger.”
