Every day is more difficult for the residents of Koumoundourou and Charilaou Trikoupi. The electoral “aftershocks” are multiple and affect the leaderships in different ways. At the moment, the biggest problem seems to be Nikos Androulakis. The challenge to his person is now direct with members of parliament – executives ready to clash with him over the result of last Sunday.

It is estimated that the president of the party has the majority both in the Central Committee and in the parliamentary group, however the conflict will be tough. The small increase in the rate combined with the loss of second place only did not go unnoticed and the “organs” started before they even met.

Signatures are already being collected in order for the request to elect a president before 2024 to take shape with Harilaou Trikoupi asking for respect for the statute so that the party is not “swallowed” by introversion. For “urgent and coordinated public interventions by those who allegedly interfere in the institutional functions of the institutions”, PASOK circles spoke at a time when Odysseas Konstantinopoulos, Nikos Papandreou, Pavlos Geroulanos, Apostolos Panas, Nadia Giannakopoulou are among the MPs who are asking for the running of the internal party developments.

The first critical crash test for PASOK will be the meeting of the Political Council, most likely next Wednesday, with the leadership group trying to buy some time, as the developments are stormy and to a large extent seem to have taken the president and his associates by surprise. The background is intense in Harilaou Trikoupis and in relation to the alleged placement of Yiannis Maniatis as head of the trio of MEPs and not Nikos Papandreou who came first in votes, but also regarding Andreas Spyropoulos and his future in the position of secretary.

With less intensity, but with great interest, the staff of Koumoundourou are watching the mobility that exists in the party. The internal party opposition after several months of silence is starting to become active. Dionysis Teboneras has opened a front with Stefanos Kasselakis with the two exchanging fire through interviews, while Yiannis Ragousis and Thanasis Theocharopoulos are asking for a referendum to be held in order for SYRIZA to participate in the procedures for the reorganization of the space of the center-left and the creation of a new party . The proposal will likely be discussed at the Central Committee meeting on June 30. The two executives are in constant contact and essentially the message they are sending to the president is that he does not seem to have the momentum to be able to defeat Kyriakos Mitsotakis on his own.

Speaking on PARAPOLITIKA FM, the president of SYRIZA made a parliamentary opening to the “green camp”. Is he maneuvering to show that he does not say no to partnerships? He rules out, however, that SYRIZA is not the main core of the center-left. His position at the parliamentary group meeting today will be interesting, with all eyes on Monday’s International Conference and the first post-election appearance of Alexis Tsipras.
