His resume

Kostas Tsiaras is an MP of New Democracy and is elected in the electoral district of Karditsa. He has served as Minister of Justice (2019-2023) and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2012-2013). He was born on July 2, 1966 in Karditsa. He is a graduate of the Medical School of the Democritus University of Thrace and a doctor of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He works as a medical microbiologist biopathologist. During his student years, he was a member of DAP-NDFK.

He was president of the Association of Primary Health Care Workers (SEPPY) of Karditsa, as well as president of the Local Committee of the New Republic of Karditsa. He is also a founding member of the Karditsa Studies Institute and the Karditsa Greek-American Friendship Association.

He was elected for the first time as an MP for Karditsa in the 2004 elections and was re-elected in all subsequent elections. He has been in charge of the Health and Social Solidarity sector, deputy in charge of the Civil Responsibility Protection of the Citizen sector and secretary of the Agricultural sector of New Democracy. During his parliamentary term, he was the president of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Parliament of Azerbaijan and a member of the Greek delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of Black Sea Economic Cooperation.

In the government of Antonis Samaras, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece from its inception until June 24, 2013. Later, he served as the chairman of the Standing Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament until January 2015. In January 2016, following a proposal of ND president Kyriakos Mitsotakis and after unanimous acceptance by the MPs, he was elected Secretary General of the ND Parliamentary Group.

In the 2019 elections, he renewed his parliamentary term and was appointed Minister of Justice in the Mitsotakis government. In the elections of May and June 2023 he was re-elected and in July he was appointed parliamentary representative of the party.
