Executives of Harilaou Trikoupis speak of introversion that hurts the faction – SYRIZA is monitoring the developments in PASOK without commenting
The balance in PASOK is on a tightrope, ahead of the crucial meeting of the Political Council, with new reactions from executives who are calling for elections to elect a new leadership of the party. In SYRIZA, the background for the reorganization of the center-left has caught fire.
The turmoil in PASOK continues. After the intervention of Haris Doukas who requested an immediate appeal to the polls, executives of Harilaou Trikoupis speak of introversion that hurts the faction.
“In order for PASOK KINAL to be able to respond to its historical role, it first needs to reorganize itself. Not to open a new circle of introversion. To succeed, a participatory shock is needed. The only effective way out is to speak to the grassroots, otherwise the crisis will deepen and multiply. The starting point of our restart must be the immediate, massive appeal to our world” notes Haris Doukas in Kathimerini.
“He was elected and chosen by the Athenians to deal with the problems. He still has 4.5 years of office and I think it would be preferable or appropriate for him to focus on the problems that the citizens have. From here on, of course, everyone is judged for their actions and their words,” answered the representative of PASOK Thanasis Glavinas speaking to OPEN.
Ahead of his crucial meeting Political Council of PASOK each side formulates its own strategy.
“My opinion, which I have also told my president, is that we should de-complain and de-dramatize the issues that preoccupy each executive in the relevant bodies,” the party’s secretary commented to SKAI Evangelia Liakoulis.
“It is necessary to have a new model of political leadership that will not make secondary oppositions dominant” she noted to our station and Vasia Anastasiou, member of the PASOK Executive Committee.

At the same time, the news is also monopolized by the debate on the reorganization of the Center-Left, with Koumoundourou monitoring the developments in PASOK without commenting. His proposal however Stefanou Kasselakis for the cooperation of the parliamentary groups remains on the table, with Dionysis Tebonera insisting on the creation of a coordinating center of the progressive forces.
“If the cooperation at the parliamentary level progresses that we have addressed to PASOK and Pleusi and extends to elections in these unions, they can be preliminary and if they are successful,” the SYRIZA spokeswoman emphasized Voula Kehagia.
“Without these parties losing their autonomy and self-reliance, there should be a field of dialogue that will end after some time in a programmatic agreement” noted the member of the Political Secretariat Dionysis Teboneras.
The spotlight is expected to turn on tomorrow (Monday) at the event of the Alexis Tsipras Institute, with the former prime minister announcing the launch of the site and sending his message:
“We must not and cannot remain indifferent. We must give space to thought, reflection, dialogue that challenges stereotypes and seeks the new.”
The event will take place at the Athens Conservatory.
