The president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, fired shots aimed at his challengers, during his deputation at the meeting of the political council and the party’s Executive Committee, even speaking of “Pontius Pilate” when it came to the political agenda.

Mr. Androulakis, among other things, spoke of the party’s undermining by his challengers while raising again the question of the deletions, characterizing as “adventurism” the criticism leveled at him for the result of the European elections, which favors the government of Mr. Mitsotakis .

With regard to the decisions and objections of party officials to resort to early internal party elections, the president of PASOK transferred the issue to the meeting of the Central Committee, in which he will come with a unifying proposal to “put both the politics and the persons in the judgment of the people of the faction” as he emphasized.

All my choices were valuable because I have political autonomy from interests. I became Secretary of PASOK and MEP on my own and will continue to do so.

Because the faction has suffered a lot from adventurism and behind-the-scenes games, we must have historical memory and remember that the soul of PASOK has fought and has been fought many times by the PASOK establishment and bureaucracy. Whenever the soul of PASOK won with its autonomy, passion, values ​​and ideas, it went forward. Whenever he was defeated, the elders know what happened.

It was a fruitful discussion. I will try to make the proposal to the Central Committee as unifying as possible and to cover everything we discussed. Let’s put both the politics and the people in the judgment of the people of the faction.

For me, unity is not just words, nor declarations, it is culture. When the word leaves, it’s a bullet. He’s not coming back. So today, – according to some – the 5% increase from the previous European elections is a defeat! The 4% increase since the 2019 national elections is a defeat!

I take responsibility for the malfunctions but not a universal discrediting of an open period, during which the party made a social democratic program, with themed events all over Greece. But those who are currently hacking the program have not sent a single email for their domain for four months.

The statute is no one’s shield, it is all of us. In 2019, there was also a discussion then that PASOK was over. “31% SYRIZA and 8% us, let’s become a trend of SYRIZA” some said as you will remember from the discussion that took place at that time in the Central Committee.

Some of us disagreed and said “yes we did not go well, but not to become a SYRIZA trend, we have potential”. Today we are 2 points away from SYRIZA and even if a dialogue is opened with the progressive forces, it will not be opened with a PASOK without power, without the possibility to put forward its agenda. I point this out because with the same ease that today we condemn our governmental perspective, we also then condemned our dynamics in a wider space of progressive realignments.

Five meetings of the Parliamentary Group, but some did not speak for a second. Neither for homosexuals, nor for universities, because quite simply they were “Pontius Pilates”. Today they themselves come and say that the bodies did not meet.

Trying for a week now in every way to take the spotlight from the big loser, who should be apologizing, to me is adventurism. So we couldn’t talk about all this here today? It’s adventure. Not even for two hours did some people allow Mitsotakis to face his responsibilities.

Deletions: I’ve done so many that what can I say? What to say; Awesome! That is, what will a party do, if the bodies make a democratic decision, and the next day we have the same again? Should we get to where we were 15 years ago?

Political ethics is, in my humble opinion, what we say here in public that we believe in ourselves and really want to serve. And not to suddenly want to create a sense of complete humiliation of the world, that we have failed, and something else is done. Let’s describe it something else. And not to set up a catwalk for something else to come hidden.

When I said 2021 autonomous course, I knew very well the difficulties. I knew very well that there is a possibility that New Democracy will not be self-sustaining. As I know very well how many of you told me in all the speeches: “put that we will not leave the country ungoverned”. All choices had risk. What I said in 2021, that’s what I served until today. Did I make mistakes? I made mistakes I told you. But that’s what I served, renewal, political autonomy and unity. And unity for me is not a theoretical discussion, it is transparency and meritorious choices.
