Fredis Beleris has a period of 30 days to decide whether to appeal against the decision of the KEE.

The chief commissioner of the electoral commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, as reported by ximara.gr, emphasized that the committee does not favor anyone and that the decision was not taken with the intention of harming anyone’s interests.

However, Beleris’ lawyer argued that KEE he has no power to cancel his tenure as he never exercised his duties as mayor.

The KEE’s decision has provoked reactions from the Democratic Party, which accuses the commission of bias.

Himara is now expected to go to new elections.

Fredis Beleris was elected on May 14 as head of the municipality of Heimarra, but two days before the result he was arrested for buying votes.
