Fredis Beleris finally received permission to go to Strasbourg and to be sworn in as an MEP after pressure from Athens on the Rama government.

As it became known, the request for a five-day leave submitted by Fredis Beleris was accepted by the direction of the Albanian prisons.

The MEP on Monday July 15 will depart from Tirana bound for Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, where it will arrive at 12.30 pm.

He will then go to Strasbourg, in order to take up his duties as a member of the European Parliament during the inaugural Plenary Session of the European Parliament and to participate in the elections for the presidents of the European Parliament and the Commission.

The government noted that it is one particularly important development, result of systematic work. And, of course, at the Maximos Palace they express their satisfaction.

Last Tuesday, the elected MEP of the ND participated in the meeting of the Greek MEPs organized by the initiative of the Permanent Greek Representation in Brussels.

In order to enable Mr. Beleris to participate for a few minutes via zoom, it was necessary once again to submit a special request at the Directorate of Fieri Prisonswhere he is being held.

It should be noted that Greece has a total 21 MEPs out of a total of 720 seats in the European Parliament.
